How To Reach Delhi |
Delhi (New Delhi) the capital of India remains adequately connected with the rest of the country by rail, road and air. The different routes are as follows:
Air: Delhi’s International Airport named as Indira Gandhi airport receives flights from all over the world and almost all the major airlines touch down over here. Trans-border flights take off and land at this airport on a regular basis. The domestic airport named Palam is connected with all major cities and towns in India. Some of the flights which travel to and fro from Delhi are Air Deccan, Jet Airways, Alliance Air, Kingfisher, GoAir, Spice Jet and Indigo.
Rail: Similarly like air, one can reach Delhi by train from anywhere in India. The city has 3 major stations which are New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Delhi Cantt. It is from the New Delhi Cantonment station that one can avail luxury trains like Palace on Wheels, Royal Orient Express and Fairy Queen. The Rajdhani Express connects Delhi with all the state capitals of the country whereas the Shatabdi Express travels to and forth the neighbouring cities and towns.
Road: Both state owned and private luxury coaches ply from Delhi and travel to various parts of the country. There are 3 Inter State Bus terminus at Sarai Kale Khan, Kashmere Gate and Anand Vihar respectively and people can travel to different states.
Apart from these, buses run by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), metro rail, auto rickshaws and taxis form a convenient form of travel within the city. |
