Delhi experiences polarised climate where summers are very hot and humid and winters are chilly and foggy. Summer months are from April to June when hot winds blow across the city and the mercury rises up to 45 degree centigrade. Monsoon arrives in July and continues till September which brings torrential bursts of rain, however it also increases the humidity in the atmosphere. The climate turns pleasant in October which is usually bright and sunny, whereas winter sets in by November and stays till end February. This is the ideal season to visit the capital city though one should be careful to carry woollen garments as temperature dips quite a bit and can touch as low as zero degree (0) even at times, though usually it stays around 2-3 degree centigrade. Spring is from February to April by which summer again sets in, though this is the season when one celebrates Holi, the festival of colours. If one does not mind colours and water balloons being thrown at them with lots of fun, frolic and enjoyment then this is yet another season to visit Delhi.
